I am shedding the moniker of self taught artist by completing my B.A. in art at UNC-Charlotte. This blog serves as a tool with which I may examine issues concerning current projects in progress. A blog makes sense as a tool to share my current projects while also approaching class studies as a jumping board for growth in my own art. Themes that recur in my art relate to the female body and experience, animals and their relationship to humans, personal narrative, and story telling.

Born in Huntington, West Virginia in 1974, I now reside in Charlotte, North Carolina with my family. Although art is my primary focus, I also play music locally and have a background in theater which both inform my visual art process.
